Standalone SSO refresh

Implementing Stytch SSO as a standalone module alongside an existing authentication system is now even easier. Stytch’s SSO APIs now accept external IDs, making it possible to accommodate unique identifiers for organizations from other sources. We’ve also launched an updated implementation guide for standalone SSO that you can reference here.

Copy environment configurations

Following the launch of custom test environments, you can now copy configurations across environments in the Stytch Dashboard. This makes it easier to create additional test environments with your existing configs or duplicate your test configs to live. Either select a source to copy from in the top-level environment switcher or use the “Copy from” button on select configuration pages.

Consumer RBAC + custom scopes

Consumer applications now support RBAC policies and custom scopes. This brings OAuth-aligned permissioning to consumer apps, letting users and admins grant only the permissions an app needs (and nothing more).

The consumer RBAC model differs from the B2B one as there are no implicit roles, instead everything must be explicitly assigned.

How to get started

  1. Head to the Dashboard for your consumer application.

  2. Under Management > RBAC Policies, define your roles, resources, and scopes as described in the documentation.

  3. Verify that it works by running through an OAuth login flow. If done properly, you should not be able to complete it unless the correct scopes are granted.

Integrate RBAC and custom scopes into your Stytch Consumer application today using our Ruby, Node, Go, and Python SDKs or with our front-end SDK.
